Hal E. Moore, 83, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Hal was born September 23, 1936 in Angola, Indiana to the late Gerald H. and Florence (Tucker) Moore. Hal was a graduate of Angola High School and Tri-State College, Angola, IN. Hal married the love of his life, Betty J. (Duncan) on December 23,1959 who passed on April 21, 2003. Hal was intelligent and creative, and an inventor. Most recently he had been working on improvement of the refining process for vegetable oil involving activated carbon. Hal worked until 1990 for Calgon Carbon Corporation as a Sales Professional. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven, February 2011. Hal is survived by his beloved daughter Catherine (John) O’Brien of Arlington, TX, and his cherished granddaughter Erin N. O’Brien. He lived and breathed golf. Hal never let a karaoke opportunity pass him by, especially Johnny Cash songs. He enjoyed life and was fun to be around. The family wishes to thank Sarah, Bill, and Christine for their many years of love, support, and friendship for Hal. There will be no visitation and burial will be private.
