Gwendolyn Karen Holmes Dickerson, age 75, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Gwen was born in Wichita Falls, TX on May 25, 1950, one of five children born to the late Lewie and Lucy Mae (Rucker) Holmes. Gwen was a graduate of Coraopolis High School, class of 1968, where she was a member of the Drill Team. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Duff’s Business Institute and retired as a secretary for Abramovitz and Zimmerman Law Firm, Pittsburgh. Gwen, The Mother of the Church, was a faithful and spiritual member of the Coraopolis Church of God in Christ and Coraopolis Abundant Life Ministries. She also loved to take day trips to Atlantic City where she enjoyed the casinos. Gwen was the best friend and Mom that anyone could have been. Beloved mother of Janeen N. Dickerson, Howard “Jody” G. Dickerson, Jr. and wife Elise, and Michelle “Missy” L. Dickerson; grandmother of Theodore Marcel Mathews (Arianna), Keia Herring (Taylor), Olivia Dickerson, Andrea Lyman, Bryanna Dickerson, Tylah Bridges, Jaymir Eggleston, and Jaymar Eggleston; great grandmother of Amora and “TJ” Theodore Jr., with one expected in January; sister of Barron K. Holmes, and the late Dennis L. Holmes, and the late Donna L. Holmes; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 12 PM until time of service from 1-2 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Avenue.
