Gertrudis Quiñones Lopez

Gertrudis Quiñones Lopez, age 100, passed away peacefully at her granddaughter’s home on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Gertrudis was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on May 5, 1922, daughter of the late Melquiades Quiñones and Ana Elisa Lopez. In 2008, she came from Puerto Rico and made her home with the family in Crescent. She was preceded in death by her late husband Mariano Rodríguez Alejandro. Beloved mother of Iris Gertrudis Rodríguez Quiñones and Mariano Rodríguez Quiñones , Kuky, Pito, and Edith; loving grandmother of, José Gabriel, Verónica, Viviana, Javier, Oscar, Daniel the late Vanessa Marie; Great Grandmother of Viviana Charís, Víctor Manuel, Jesús Daniel Alejandro, Myah Verónika, Irivette Marie, Tamara Zoé, Pamela Vanessa, Alana Jolí, Ricardo José, Iván, Diego,  Adrián, Jean Paul, Isabela and Ernesto Daniel; and Great Great Grandmother of Mikaela, and Jairo Jesús.; also, sisters and brothers: Ana, Gladys , Gloria , Mercedes, Ángel, Carlos, Luis and Blanca; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Gertrudis was a grandmother in every sense of the word, loving, kind, nurturing, consoling, undergirding. Gertrudis was the Matriarch, the strength of the family, “The Boss”. She loved to cook, and her table was always full of plenty as well as a brewing pot of coffee. She was happy and joyful. She enjoyed board games like Chinese Checkers and the Rumikub. She will Always and Forever be missed and will Remain alive in our hearts. All are welcome at her home for her  Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 20, 2023, starting at 3 PM Arrangements by Copeland’s.
