George Lawrence Krisher, of Moon Township, passed away at age 70, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, a devoted husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother and friend whose quiet courage and quick quip made every circle he entered feel like family. Born December 2, 1954, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, to George Edward and Dolores Mae (Sobek) Krisher, George built a life anchored in service, loyalty, and simple joys that grew into lifelong passions.
George answered the call to protect and serve - first with the Braddock Police, as a U.S. Army Veteran, and then throughout a distinguished career with the Allegheny County Police as a K-9 officer. He was the one you wanted by your side: fair, unflappable, and kind, with a talent for reading a room and a heart that always tried to leave a place better than he found it. He was active with the Allegheny Police Association and poured his love of motorcycle riding into the Blue Knights community and skeet shooting, where he found brothers and sisters of the road and countless miles of friendship.
George was alive under an open sky engaged in one of his many hobbies. He was a hunter, fisherman and skeet shooter who respected the woods and the craft; an avid learner with a particular passion for history; a Honda motorcycle enthusiast who believed the best way to experience the world was to ride through it; and a dog lover who never met a four-legged friend he didn't like. He was a faithful friend, the first to raise his hand, the last to complain.
Above all, George loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tracey DuBosar-Krisher; his children Sarah Krisher (Brian Hallee), Samuel Krisher, and Tony Krisher (Caroline); and his beloved grandchildren Alyssa, Violet, and Lowen, who knew him simply as the best Pap in the world. He is also survived by his mother, Dolores M. Krisher, and his brother James Krisher (Betsy). He leaves behind a wide circle of friends, colleagues, riding companions, and neighbors who will miss his steady presence and ready smile.
If you wish to honor George, take a slow ride on a favorite road, or lend a hand where it's needed most. That's how he lived-and how he'll be remembered.
Visitation will be held on August 20, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at R.D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township, PA 15108. A service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on August 21 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
