Genre "Jerry" J. Comunale, Jr., age 75, a long-time resident of Sewickley and a faithful servant of God, spread "His Word" through the universal language of song passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital. Jerry was born in Pittsburgh on August 23, 1947. Jerry was one of three children to the late Lillian (DiNapoli) and Genre J. Comunale, Sr. Jerry married the love of his life, Alexis Del Fiacco, on May 30, 1986 and recently celebrated thirty-seven beautiful years together. In addition to his beloved wife and soulmate, he is survived by his loving daughter Noelle Comunale, a sister Carmela Vail, a brother Sam Comunale and his wife, Renee. Jerry was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and faithful friends. A graduate of Serra Catholic, he obtained a Bachelor of English and Theater degree from Point Park College. Teaching was a personal fulfillment in his life and he continued his passion for acting and theater when he became the founder and artistic director of Camelot Productions in Bloomfield. Jerry loved performing, singing, acting, and coaching young people. He also was blessed as an acting coach for Quaker Valley Musicals. God blessed Jerry with a beautiful singing voice, and he used that talent as a cantor at St. James Church for over 30 years at the Saturday evening 4:30 PM Mass. He was an avid football fan and sports enthusiast. Central Catholic was at the the top of his list for enjoying a good high school football game. He also followed college basketball and in his spare time, one could find him completing the New York Times crossword puzzle - in ink. For over 30 years, Jerry was a sales executive for both Exhibit Group/Giltspur and Derse Exhibits, Inc. Please join us as we celebrate Jerry's life with visitation Sunday 2-6 PM at R. D. Copeland, Ltd. Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley. On Monday, June 5, please come for prayers at noon, in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church (200 Walnut Street, Sewickley) at 12 :30 PM, Reverend Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Jerry's name to Divine Redeemer Parish Music Ministry, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or the ASPCA.
