Galyna Samokhvalova

Galyna Samokhvalova; Age 86, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2026.

She was born in Izhevsk, Russia, but lived most of her adult life in Odesa, Ukraine; working at the airport and retiring after more than 50 years as a Radio Operator and Telegraphist. She relocated to Coraopolis in 2022 at the start of Russia’s attack of Ukraine.

Galyna was very active in her community and routinely performed volunteer work to help others, while still having fun in personal life cooking, walking all over Odesa and as a homemade clothes maker.

She is survived by her daughter Vira (Babushkina) Mehalko (Bill Machaj), grandson Kyrylo Babushkin and older sister Valentina and was preceded in death by her older brother Alexander and younger sister Nina.
