Gale (Redenbaugh) Loberg

Gale Loberg; Age 83 most recently a resident of Masonic Village in Sewickley passed away on Friday, October 18th at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born in Sewickley on August 26, 1941, Gale was the daughter of the late Milton and Elsie (Lang) Redenbaugh. Beloved wife of 26 years to the late John C. Loberg. Mother of the late Samuel William Hinzman and step mother of Stuart Loberg. Younger sister of the late Lou Redenbaugh and twin-sister of Dale Redenbaugh. Cherished grandmother of Christa Hinzman. Also survived by 2 great-grandchildren. In her younger days, Gale worked as an Executive Secretary at Allegheny Airlines. Gale and her husband John lived at Camp Zama in Japan for 2 years during his military career where she enjoyed teaching English. They settled in Napa, CA where Gale worked in Human Resources at The Doctors Company and was a member of the Purple Heart Auxiliary. For 22 years, they joined family and friends in Yosemite for an October hike. Settling back in the Sewickley area, Gale served on the board of the Union Aid Society for 5 years, volunteered at Heritage Valley Hospital for 9 years, and continued volunteering with the Purple Heart Auxiliary. Gale took delight in entertaining and preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed bible study groups, reading, playing bunco, traveling on beautiful vacations to the Virgin Islands, California and cruises to Alaska & Europe. As family meant so much to Gale, she was especially fond of sharing lunches with her granddaughter Christa and her 2 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis on Saturday from 11 AM – 1 PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 1 PM. Interment will be PRIVATE at the West Point Cemetery in Highland Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gale’s name can be made to the West Point Association of Graduates, Herbert Hall, 698 Mills Rd, West Point, NY 10996.
