Fred Shay Obituary

Fred Scott Shay, 68, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, living a short time in Groveton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Scotty was born in Meadville, PA on October 23, 1951 to the late Fred and Rita (Smith) Shay, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Roberta Shay. Scotty is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary Kay Laszczynski; and his three nephews: John, Ken, and Jay. A minimalist of sorts, Scotty was a quiet man who enjoyed watching Star Trek, playing a good game of chess, reading many books, and cheering on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
