Frances Lonnelle "Nell" (Johnson) Sutliff

Frances Lonnelle “Nell” Johnson Sutliff, 88, of Sewickley, formerly of Ben Avon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Masonic Village at Sewickley. Nell was born in Meadville, PA on July 23, 1936, one of five children to the late Clarence and Virginia (Faulkner) Johnson. Nell grew up in Meadville, graduating from Meadville High School in 1954. She went on to further her education at Keystone Junior College where she graduated as a Medical Secretary. When she moved to Ben Avon, she applied and secured the position of Medical Secretary at Suburban General Hospital. She was also a co-owner of the Strawberry Patch, an exclusive gift shop in Bellevue. Nell was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Church, where she volunteered at the Christie House, and served as the president of the Women of St. Stephen’s. Her most important job that she loved best was that of being a wife, mom, grandmother and sister. She provided a wonderful nurturing environment for her well-loved family. She is survived by her beloved husband Clifford Sutliff, Jr., whom she married on May 8, 1957. Loving mother of Eric Sutliff, Katherine (John) Wilson and Alec (Peggy) Sutliff; cherished grandmother of Benjamin (Vanessa) Wilson, Matthew (Jessica) Wilson, Bethany (Justin) Runkel, Abigail (Sam) Zafris, Reed (Emilee) Sutliff and Jill Sutliff; proud great grandmother of John Wilson, Adaline Wilson, Tennyson Runkel, Everly Runkel, Elijah Sutliff, and Gracie Sutliff; dear sister of Barbee Johnson and the late Carolyn Ross, Clarence “Bo” Johnson and David Johnson; also many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Church, 405 Frederick Avenue, Sewickley, PA 15143 on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at 11 AM.  Arrangements entrusted to R. D.
