Florindo D'Antonio, a devoted man of tremendous faith, passed away on Thursday, September 11th at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born in Italy on February 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Luigi and Giovina D'Antonio.
Florindo was the beloved husband of 50 years to the late Gemma (Bolea) D'Antonio. He was the cherished father of Louis (Tina) D'Antonio, Teresa (Luke) Ciarallo, and the late Joanne (Robert) Rollins. He was the brother of Michael D'Antonio, and the proud grandfather of Clinton Rollins, Robert (Samantha) Rollins, Mia D'Antonio, Gianna D'Antonio, Madeline Ciarallo, and Luke Ciarallo, Jr.
Florindo was a simple, hardworking man who loved his wife and family, and was incredibly proud of his six grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a skilled handyman who could build or fix anything. Known for his generosity, he always planted far too many tomatoes, sharing the abundance with his neighbors by leaving bags of them on their porches.
A devout member of St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis for over 50 years, Florindo's faith was a cornerstone of his life.
Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis, on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16th at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery.
