Evelyn Guiliani Vavrek

             Evelyn Guiliani Vavrek, age 85, of Moon Township, died peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 at West Penn Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Moon Township to the late Leno and Julia (Stary) Guiliani. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, of 53 years and a brother, Lloyd.

            Evelyn is survived by daughter Melissa Little of Roaring Spring, PA and Kathy Taylor (Ken) of McKean, PA. Six grandchildren: David, John, Scott (Morgan) & Julia Taylor; Miranda and Sarah Little and 2 great-grandchildren, Bentley and Lincoln Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews. 

            Evelyn graduated from Moon High School, class of 1956. She worked at the Coraopolis Bank for eleven years and then the Moon Area School District for 36 years as the bus transportation coordinator and then later as a wage tax clerk.

            Evelyn was a proud, independent and talented woman who was well-known and appreciated as a gifted seamstress. She attended the Clarissa School for certification in dress designing and making. She was a costume coordinator/designer for numerous plays and musicals at Moon High School. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church or Coraopolis and a Meals on Wheels volunteer for many years. She was dearly loved by all and will be sadly missed.

            Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp on Saturday from 10 – 11:30 am followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
