Esther M. (Cain) Baun, 90, a life-long resident of Findlay Twp., passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Heritage Valley Sewickley on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Beloved wife of 69 years to Leonard W. Baun whom she married on July 16, 1954. Cherished mother of Debra (Gary) Shutak of Butler, Maureen Sue (Frank) Kamicker of Aliquippa and Larry (Mary) Baun of Crescent. Sister of the late George, Paul, James and Robert Cain. Grandmother of Kimberly (Scott) Campbell, Donna (Rich) Fabyanic, Colin Baun and Sarah (Evan) Slater. Great-grandmother of Rory Campbell, Lily Campbell and Vayda Fabyanic. Esther was a longtime member of the Beacon of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene in Coraopolis. There she served as the Missionary Society President, Church Board Secretary, and a dedicated board member for many years. Along with her husband, they enjoyed several Work & Witness trips internationally through the church except for the trip to Thailand when she broke her ankle. Aside from her devotion to the church, Esther worked at the West Allegheny School District Administration building for 30 years before retiring in 1998. Always one to keep her mind active, she was an avid reader, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Friends and family will be received at the Beacon of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 386 Shafer Rd, Coraopolis on Sunday, November 12th from 2 – 5 PM and 6 – 7:30 PM where a service will be held at 7:30 PM. Contributions in Esther’s name may be made to the Work and Witness, make checks payable to “District WPG” c/o Barb Doverspike, 4032 Georgetown Rd, Polk, PA 16342. Arrangements entrusted to R.D.
