Ellen Wynne Ditoro
Born March 6, 1930, and entered into eternal life on February 11, 2025, at the age of 94.
Ellen was the third child of Frank and Margaret (Leibold) Cornelius of Freedom, PA. She graduated from Garfield Business Institute, New Brighton, PA and had lived in Moon Township, PA since 1961. In 1974 she served on the Committee for the Five-Year Plan for Special Education in Moon Schools and later served a term as president of the Special Education League of Moon Area (SELMA) becoming an advocate for special education and parental rights. She was a member of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish
A retired fuel tax accountant with Fedex Ground, she was formerly a reporter for the Beaver County Times and Executive Editor of the Moon Township Bicentennial Commemorative Book Committee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Ditoro and four siblings: Frank Jr, Betty, Dorothy, and Rozan. She is survived by three children: Joe Ditoro, Mark Ditoro and Ann Ditoro; three grandchildren: Michael Ditoro, Jennifer Militzer and Jacqueline Fahnestock; and ten great-grandchildren.
Ellen lived a long, productive and fulfilling life. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Broadhead Road, Moon Township, PA 15108 on Saturday, February 15 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by Mass at 12:30 pm at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, One Parish Place, Moon Township.
