Eileen Todd Obituary

Eileen Joyce (Lawson) Todd

May 27, 1940-March 8, 2025

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Eileen of Neville Island and formerly from Coraopolis peacefully passed into the waiting arms of Jesus.

Eileen is now reunited with her parents Herbert & Gladys (McCuean) Lawson and her sister  Janet Elaine (Lawson) Gerhart.

Eileen grew up on Lincoln Place (PA) and attended Taylor Allderdice High School where she met Ronald (Dick) Todd, the two were married in 1960 and eventually moved to Coraopolis to raise their family.

Eileen was Mom to James (decd) & Lorie Todd, Joyce & Donnie (decd) Lemesh and Jeffery & Melissa Todd.  She was also Grandma to Jamie & Chris Roland, Matthew & Shaydora Todd, Myanne & Jason Sullivan and Joshua Todd as well as Great Grandma to Connor, Joey, Jayda, Derrek, Everett, Lucas and Aeriella.  Eileen was  adopted as Grandma ET by Matthew Buck, Jennifer (Buck) Hardisky, Ashley (Buck) & Ian, Georgie, Lucius & Sammy Wilson and Gregory Buck.  And Grandma to her beloved furgrands Maxx and Shadow.

Eileen worked hard at various jobs throughout her lifetime and instilled her work ethic into all of her children and grandchildren.  She was employed by Gimbles as a teen and after being a stay-at-home Mom, found her life’s work in the clothing industry.  She used her talents as seamstress at Van Balen’s Dry Cleaners where she learned to run the clothing press.  This new skill led to a career at Kaufmann’s Department Store where she worked as a finish presser.  Eileen retired from that position but continued to work security at  AT & T and cashier positions at Rite Aid, Neilsen’s Markets, Cash Market and Giant Eagle from where she finally retired for good in 2019.

Eileen’s dedication didn’t only benefit her family and employers, she was also an avid volunteer.  She taught Sunday School at Sewickley United Methodist Church where she along with her sister crafted for their church bizarre.  Eileen was a volunteer and board member of Coraopolis Parks & Recreation and also volunteered for the Cornell PTA. Eileen also served as a Den Leader, Cubmaster and District Committee member in the Montour District of the Boy Scouts of America as well as volunteering for Day Camp Staff later in life.  While serving, Eileen was awarded a Key Three Award, a District Award of Merit and a Silver Beaver Award. Eileen also attended and completed her Woodbadge Training and earned her Woodbadge beads.

The family would like to thank those who ensured Eileen’s peaceful passing.  Caregivers Barb and Cassondra from Right@Home, Nikita (volunteer at Vitas), along with her careteam Corena, Kristen, Brianna, Leigha and Don from Vitas Healthcare.
