Earl C. Gamble, fondly referred to as the “Duke of Earl” or Chet, was a Coraopolis resident most of his life, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at PAM Health-Heritage Valley Beaver. Earl was born in Franklin, Kentucky on June 27, 1942, to the late Les Robey and Thelma Edison. Beloved husband for 48 years to Cheryl (Mathews) Gamble; loving father of Charles Joffery Watson (Farhana Tuly); cherished grandfather of Charles J. Watson II, Taylor Jordan Watson, and Joyee Niaz; uncle of Katrina Smith (Joey) and Frank Smith, Jr.. Earl was preceded in death by his siblings Thelma Joyce Tidwell and Walter Gamble. Chet was employed by US Airways for 18 years, until he retired in 2004. Previously he had worked for Chemsol (Coraopolis) as a truck driver. A true patriot, he joined the U.S. Army, became a Military Policeman and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. Many of you who knew Chet, knew he coveted his privacy. He was an avid Steeler Fan and was an Old Western Movie Buff. Always wearing his Army or Steeler ball cap, he was a car aficionado, loved barbequed ribs and pizza, and was a dog lover. Visitation Saturday 11:30 AM until time of service at 1 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. His burial will take place privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to any veteran organization of your choice.
