It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Regis A. Born on November 30, 1937, the son of the late Regis P. and Helen (Smith) Welsh, and the brother of the late Thomas P. Welsh and James E. Welsh.

Rege’s love for his family and community defined his life. He was a devoted husband to the late Carol (Hack) Welsh, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised three children: Sharon (Mike) Welsh, Kristine (William) Miller and Daniel (Kimmy) Welsh. His legacy lives on through his six cherished grandchildren: Jordan Chipps, Jeremy Regis Chipps, Gabriella Chipps, Lacey Miller, Dakota Miller and Nicholai Welsh and his three great grandchildren: Isla Miller, Callie Chipps and Murphy Miller.

A graduate of Robinson High School (1955) and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School with degrees in Bachelor of Science and DDS (1963). Rege went on to enjoy a successful 35-year career as a General Dentist with offices in Robinson Township, PA and Sewickley, PA. Rege taught Clinical Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh Dental School two days a week for 12 years. Rege was also the school dentist for Burkett Elementary School, Holy Trinity and St. Malachy Catholic Schools.

Rege was a lifelong sports enthusiast, and an avid Hunter and Fisherman. One of Rege’s favorite past times was sharing the card game called 500 with his entire family. A man of deep integrity, he will be remembered for his infectious love of travel and adventure, warm heart and unwavering loyalty. His presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

In addition to his family, friends and work, Rege’s spirit of generosity extended to many charitable causes including Wounded Warrior Project, Doctors Without Borders and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude, phone 1-800-822-6344, email at donors@stjude.org or mail a check to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O.
