Dorothy J. (Santorella) Roman, 96, a Moon Township resident most of her life, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice House. Dorothy was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA on December 19, 1924, one of six children to the late Eugene and Jennie (Caruso) Santorella. Dorothy married the love of her life on February 9, 1948, Dominec Roman. They had a wonderful marriage for 37 years, until he passed on November 25, 1985. Beloved mother of Kathleen (Hal) George, Janine (Kevin) Vail, and Wendy (Tim) Tomaino; cherished grandmother of Kimberly (Bryan) Long; proud great grandmother of Brayden and Kara; sister of Eugene Santorella, Jr. and the late Leonard Santorella, Madeline Fasano, Pauline Santorella, and Evelyn Cost; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a founding member of St. Margaret Mary Church where she was an active Christian Mother. She was also a volunteer at the church, St. Vincent DePaul Society and Traveler’s Aide. She was an involved member of West Hills Shopping Center Association where she had served as President. Dorothy was a co-owner of The Orbit Lounge, a well-known bar and restaurant where locals would meet, greet, hang out and enjoy each other’s company. Dorothy loved playing cards and belonged to several card clubs. Just a smile and a memory, her daughters said: “she was known for 3G’s- Her Girls, Golfing, Gambling”. Visitation Wednesday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by Mass at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Margaret Mary Church at 10 am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations if desired to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
