Doris "Kay" (Heinlein) Persing

Doris "K" Persing; Beloved wife of Edwin Persing for 47 years passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Doris C. Heinlein. Kay is survived by her children; Melissa K. Hughes (Mark) of Bethel Park and Jason E. Persing (Kristin) of Moon Twp. Blessed "Nana" to five awesome grandchildren, Anthony, Madelyn, & Justin Hughes and Brayden & Nolan Persing. Kay is also survived by her brother Edward C. Heinlein, Jr. of Boyertown, PA. Also survived by niece Courtney (Matt) Young and great-niece and nephew Luke and Camryn Young. Kay graduated from Moon High School class of 1964 and Grove City College with a degree in elementary education. She taught in several districts and happily settled and retired from Moon Area School District. Kay was active in several activities but helping and taking care of her grandbabies was a wonderful time and a blessing for her. She was so very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved watching them grow into responsible adults and the greatest grandchildren ever. Now would be a good time for anyone who owns stocks in J&B or Dewar's Scotch to "SELL". She will be missed by all her family and friends. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm and R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM with Rev. Randall Clow officiating. If desired, donations in her name may be made to the United Methodist Church or Family Hospice and Palliative Care.
