Doris Louise Johnson, 83, graced our lives with her selflessness, was a great example of dedicated faith, and loved her family. Doris, died peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born in Greenville, SC on May 26, 1937, one of nine to the late Eulis and Asaline (Burton) Johnson. Doris graduated from Quaker Valley High School in 1957 and went on to Sawyer Business School. Early in her life, she was a nursing assistant at Sewickley Valley Hospital. For many years, she was secretary for the City of Alexandria, VA. Her favorite job was being the Hostess at the Eat n Park at Edgewood Town Center. She also enjoyed selling Pampered Chef. Doris was a member of Fifth and Beechwood Church of Christ in Shadyside. Her hobbies were puzzles, traveling and cooking. She will be remembered for her deep abiding love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law David(Ty) and Carolyn Johnson; her cherished grandchildren Katherine Louise Johnson and Cameron Barrett Johnson; her brother John William Johnson; many loving nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by sisters Emily Brown, Vernell Johnson and Lois Chambers and brothers James, David, Marion, and Aaron Johnson. The family will celebrate Dori's life on June 17, 2020 with memorial visitation from 2 PM until time of service 4 PM at Copeland's Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations if desired to the Alzheimer’s Association.
