Donna Jancsar of Moon Twp, PA passed away on May, Tuesday, 7th 2024 suddenly and unexpectedly due to a severe set of illnesses. She was preceded in death by her father Stephen Spoko and by her mother Mary Lee Sopko. Donna attended Turtle Creek High School and then moved on to Clarion State College in 1966. She graduated with a B.S. Degree in Education. Majoring in Spanish and English minor, she graduated in May of 1970 and started working at the Sto-Rox School District if the fall of that year. She taught Spanish and English until her retirement in 2006. She especially loved teaching Spanish. Donna enjoyed attending plays and musical theater in the Cultural District. Musical theater was her favorite. She also traveled to Niagara on the Lake, Canada to attend plays at the Shaw Festival there. She attended aerobics classes at St. Margaret Mary in Moon Twp. Donna traveled to Florida many times. She visited friends at The Villages and went to many of the attractions in Florida. Her favorite was the Bishop Museum Planetarium in Bradenton. In her spare, private time, she was an avid reader and listener to Frank Sinatra. Donna is survived by her husband Ken, whom she always called Kenny. Stephen Sopko and David Sopko are her surviving brothers; Kelly Sopko and Matt (Leia) Sopko are her nephews and nieces Amber (Kyle) Chambers and Kristi (Nathan) Dunbar. Also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, May 14th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Twp at 10 AM followed by inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donna's name can be made to the West Hills Food Pantry or any local food pantry of the donor's choice.
