Domenick David Ligato,70, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing. Dom was born in Sewickley on May 20, 1955, one of three to the late Domenick Henry and Loretta (Augustine) Ligato. ”Dom” was a 1973 graduate of Cornell High School, excelling as a Cornell Raider. He went on to obtain his Elementary Education degree from Geneva College where he was a member of the Golden Tornadoes Football Team. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis, where he had received all his Sacraments. He served on the Board of Directors for The Sewickley YMCA. For a short period of time, he worked at R B & W. Dom, a realtor, had worked for Northwood, Caldwell Banker and Number 1 Choice, before retiring in 2015.” Nicky” was always up for a good chess game or backgammon. He loved playing sports such as golf, bowling, racquetball, tennis, paddle tennis and swimming. Nicky was always a fan of Jack Hamm and had played racquetball with him at the Sewickley YMCA. As a sports spectator, he loved being with friends watching football or any other sport, just a reason to get together. Dom was also a collector of both coins, stamps, and sports memorabilia. Dom is survived by his well-loved siblings Susan (Dennis) Ray and Daniel (Audrey) Ligato; his cherished nieces and nephews Sean, Brandson, God-daughter Cortney (Jay), Brian (Alyssa) and Stephanie (Blaimy); his adored great nephews Cooper, Leland, Luke, and Blake. A private visitation and service at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
