Diane (Viola) Bartlett, 69, a caregiver all of her life, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, with her daughter and lifelong friends beside her, at her home in Moon Township, where she had resided since 1988.
Diane was born in Gloversville, NY on October 3, 1955, one of two born to the late Anthony and Mary (Musella) Viola. Growing up in Gloversville, NY, she graduated from Gloversville High School in 1973 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fulton-Montgomery Community College. And thus, she was on her way to a nursing career that spanned from Critical Care Unit in Johnstown Hospital in NY to her retirement from Magee Women’s Hospital in 2024 in Pittsburgh. She had also worked in various health care settings between the hospitals with wide expertise in many health-related specialties.
Diane was always putting others first, was understanding, and was very approachable. Fondly called the neighborhood nurse, she would always be helping the neighbors, taking questions, and giving her opinion on their healthcare concerns. She was someone you could trust, and you knew she had your best interests at heart.
Some of her hobbies include going to the old Ladbrokes, betting on the horses and, for her relaxation, she had recently taken up latch hooking. Florida vacations were also enjoyed, especially Disney trips with friends. She also loved hosting the holidays with family and friends.
Loving mother and best friend of Cara with whom she made her home. Also, survived by her beloved aunt, Julia Szurek, along with many cousins, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren David Bartlett on December 28th of 2012, her brother Anthony Viola and many beloved fur babies.
Visitation Saturday June 28th 11 AM until time of service at 2 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations if desired, in her name, to Animal Friends. Burial and luncheon in Johnstown, NY to be scheduled at a later date.
