David J. Roth

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of David J. Roth, of Canadohta Lake, formerly of Moon Twp., of respiratory failure and COVID at the age of 80 on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1940. He was the son of the late David Matthew Roth and Elizabeth Keil and stepson of Willard Keil. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Judith (Neel) Roth, daughters, Debra (Michael) Couse and Judith (Lee F.) Manios and he will be especially missed by his loving grandsons, Frankie and David, and adoring sisters, Jacqueline Curtis, Janet (James) Breen and Lisa (Don) Kelley and many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Neville High School, where he was recruited to play basketball at North Carolina State. Instead of attending college, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served with distinction from 1958 - 1962. While being in the Navy, he also played basketball and softball. He married the love of his life, Judy, in 1959. He became the owner and operator of Acme Stone and Concrete. He then went on to work at Neville Chemical. Later in life he enjoyed annual vacations to Myrtle Beach with his extended family. Upon retirement, Dave and Judy moved to Canadohta Lake, where Dave would take great pride in tending to his flowers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his retirement. Friends will be received at Copeland's, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis on Friday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be may to St. Jude's.
