David Joseph DiYanni (Pappy) 87, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his home on Saturday, December 18, 2021. He is at rest in his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
David was born on June 27, 1934, the son of Paul and Lucille DiYanni of Emsworth.
David was the oldest of three children, Clementine (Dolly) Weil deceased, and Paulette Shuffler (Bunny).
He faithfully served God, family, and country in his 87 years on this earth.
He was an active 50 year member of Saint Margaret Mary Parish in Moon Township, faithfully serving the church body and the community, especially in his golden years. He found joy through serving others, whether it be volunteering at Sewickely Valley Hospital, ministering to the poor and needy in underserved areas, or serving at church and community events; David lived out his faith.
He was a family man to the core, from the time his first son was born in 1965 through the most recent birth of is great grandson. He held the family unit in high regard and found joy in family gatherings.
David was a true patriot. He served his country through his service in the Army and supported the Constitution and conservative causes.
He is survived by his wife Bernice and their four sons, Thorpe, Matt, (Rauz), Doug, and Lance (Christine). Also surviving are 17 grand children, Rachelle, Shane, Tyler, Shawna (deceased), David, Brian, Adam, Isaac, Ben, Olivia, Lacey, Alyssa, Alexis, Dominic, Mikayla, Gabriella, and Angelina. There are also 5 great grandchildren, Skylar, Rhett, River, Eli, and Wesley.
David lived his life to the fullest until the good Lord called him home and he left a legacy that will continue on for many generations. To all who knew him, he will be remembered dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at R.D. Copeland, Inc, 981 Brodhead Rd, Moon Township, PA 15108 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday at St. Margaret Mary Church at 10 am followed by entombment and military honors at Resurrection Cemetery.
