Daniel R. Rapp

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Robert Rapp, age 63, lifelong resident of Coraopolis, who passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Above all else, Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He shared 37 wonderful years with the love of his life, Mary M. Rapp, including 28 years of marriage. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for their family.

Dan was the son of the late Ruth Ann (Soda) Rapp and William (Bucky) Rapp III, proceeded in death by his brother William (Billy) E. Rapp IV (Tammy), and survived by his sister Terri Rapp-Krah (Paul Donahue).

He was the proud father of two children in Germany, Christian and Desirée, and cherished his grandchildren there, Ben, Nele, Suna, Paul, and Alpay, even though distance prevented him from meeting them in person. He faithfully remembered birthdays with cards, gifts, and love, ensuring they always knew they were in his heart. He also lovingly embraced his stepdaughters, Sonya and Toni Lynn, as his own. From the time they were young girls, he became the steady, dependable father they needed, standing beside them through life’s greatest joys and its hardest moments. He was also a proud grandfather and great grandfather, Tyrie, Savannah, Anastacia, Maura, and Darnell, who loved spending time with them and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. The values of service, loyalty, and generosity remained with him throughout his life and were reflected in the way he cared for everyone around him.

Anyone who knew Daniel knew that a simple trip to the grocery store or hardware store could take twice as long because he would inevitably run into someone he knew. He never met a stranger. His warm smile, kind heart, and genuine interest in others made people feel seen and valued. He was the kind of man who was always willing to help, always ready to listen, and always quick to give without expecting anything in return.

His generosity extended far beyond his family. He quietly gave his time, his encouragement, and whatever he had to offer to those who needed it. His legacy is one of kindness, compassion, humility, and unconditional love.

While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
