Clarissa “Cree” (Larabee) Anderson, 92, a Coraopolis resident since 1964, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Holy Family Manor. Born on April 24,1932 in Cato, NY, she was one of four children born to the late Leland H. and Jessie Henrietta (Deane) Larabee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Dean and David Larabee and sister Geraldine L. Copeland. Beloved mother of Judy R. Scott, Richard A. Anderson, and Darrell T. (Debbie) Anderson. Loving grandmother of Ryan Scott (Ashlie), Aimee Leeches (Jeremy), Bryan Anderson (Jill) Matt Anderson (Katie), Megan Calibria (Brian), Aaron Anderson (Jessica) and Autumn Anderson; great grandmother of Graham, Camryn, Lianna, Jaymes, Gianni, Gabriella, Ellington, James, Domini, and Kylie. Clarissa was a 1950 graduate of Ambridge High School and a 1953 graduate of Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing. A well-respected nurse who touched many lives, she was a stern but knowledgeable teacher for student nurses and her staff. For 21 years she was Head Nurse of 7 West of Sewickley Valley Hospital, until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sewickley Valley Hospital Alumni Association, and the Pennsylvania Nurses Association. Her career may have been nursing but her legacy was her family who she loved deeply. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave.
