Christa Maria (Froese) Lewis

Christa Maria (Froese) Lewis, 79, of Coraopolis since 1974, formerly of Eisenach, Germany, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Cedar Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on December 2, 1945, in Eisenach, Germany, Christa was one of three daughters to the late Paul and Margareta (Peters) Froese. On August 16, 2003, she was preceded in death by her husband US Army SSG Daniel Lewis. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Magda Magdalena Ford. Beloved mother of Mounia N. Snyder (Shaun) and Edward Lewis (Chandra); stepmother of Cassie L. Johnson, Georgia Denise Harden, and Michelle Lewis; proud grandmother of Jonathan W. Smith, Alex Lewis, Jennifer P. Snyder, Lillian G. Snyder, and Sophia Lewis; great grandmother of Elliott Smith; her sister Eva Wartelsteiner of Germany; along with her pet dogs whom she loved dearly Anya, Thunderbolt, Buddy, and Pierre. Christa was magical with her sewing machine and  needle, she was one of the best tailors in our area, working for Recchions, Van Balen’s, and Diane Cleaners. She was so proud to design and sew her daughter, Mo’s wedding gown as well as all the bridesmaid’s gown. She also would take a small amount of time out to pamper herself by getting her hair styled at the beauty salon. She will be buried with her husband at Coraopolis Cemetery. Arrangements by Copeland’s. Because of Christa’s deep love of animals, and in lieu of flowers, family ask for donations to Animal Friends in honor of Christa. Arrangements entrusted to R. D.
