Charles Barnes Obituary

Charles E. Barnes, 65, of Groveton, formerly of Neville Island, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife and two sons. Chuck was born on October 14, 1959, in Sewickley, one of three sons to the late Virginia L. (Brownley) and Robert R. Barnes, Sr. He was a professional carpenter and had done a lot of carpentry work in Neville Wood. Chuck was very handy, intelligent, and never let a project get the better of him. He would do research, so it was done right! His fun vocation was playing lead guitar, and he was also the lead singer of the Blue Table Band. He played at many of the local bars in the Coraopolis area. Sometimes boisterous, always opinionated, and occasionally a smart ass, you never knew what was coming out of his mouth. He could banter with the best of them. His 1973 Black Cherry Corvette Stingray was his cherished possession. It was their special place, where he and Adrianne would find their “Zen”, riding for hours with no destination in mind.   Charles is survived by his wife of 26 years, Adrianne (Dye) Barnes; sons Michael Barnes, Staff Sgt. John Edward Barnes (Army) and Lt. Col. Gregory (Jessica) Holloway (Army); brothers Robert (Patty) R. Barnes, Jr. and Raymond (Karen) A. Barnes. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, at 1:30 PM at Sewickley Cemetery Graveside, followed by a celebration of life at Impact Christian Church. Arrangements by Copeland’s.
