Candace “Candie” E. (Callahan) Merriman, 59, of the Southside of Pittsburgh, formerly of Sewickley, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 11, 2022, with her husband by her side. Candie was born in Pittsburgh on April 15, 1962, one of five children to the late Thomas and Erma (Baldwin) Callahan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Callahan in 1956 and Joseph Callahan in 1988. Candie married the love of her life, John Merriman, on July 14, 1984. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her beloved sisters and brothers Donna Schaaf, Kevin Callahan, and Thomas (Denise) E. Callahan, Jr.; and many loving nieces and nephews; and last but not least was her devoted Cocker Spaniel, Bruce. Candie was a 1980 graduate of Quaker Valley High School. Her specialty was information technology in healthcare. She had worked for Health America, Highmark and most recently UPMC. Candie loved decorating her home, especially for the holidays. She was a great cook and loved all the things associated with entertaining and making friends and family welcome. She also was a sharp competitor on Game Night. Candie requested no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Followed by a committal service at Sewickley Cemetery. If desired, family suggests in lieu of flowers, that you consider a donation in her name to Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland - Irvine Chapel, Sewickley.
