Brian L. McAlister, 68, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, July 23, 2021. Beloved husband of Suzanne Wilson McAlister; loving father of Jamie and Jennifer McAlister; son of the late Charles and Margaret McAlister; brother of the late C. Barry and Kevin McAlister. Also survived by nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs Mac, Rooney and CJ. Brian was owner and partner with his brother Kevin of McAlister Landscaping for many years. He was a simple, quiet man who knew the value of being a hard worker. He was the rock and protector of his family. He worked diligently with local State officials and, with his persistence, was able to get Act 201 of 2012 passed to enhance the rights of sexual assault victims in Pennsylvania. He could fix anything. If you met Brian, you would remember him. He lived life to the concept of “Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but to rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “Wow…. What a ride!!” Everyone is invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 10 am. Donations in Brian’s name may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Kinnian Hill Road, SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Arrangements entrusted to Copeland’s, Coraopolis.
