Billy Ray Werthen, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver with his family present. Bill was born in Sewickley on April 27, 1959, one of five children to Rose Marie (Mays) Werthen and the late Billy Ray Werthen, Sr. As a life-long resident of Moon Township, he was a 1977 graduate of Moon Area High School where he participated in Cross Country. He enjoyed being a coach for Moon Township Little Leage Baseball. He also loved golfing and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan. When Bill wanted to relax, his" go to Place" was outdoors. His forte was outdoor decorating for the holidays. He would decorate the whole yard. It garnered a lot of attention and was quite a showplace. Bill also was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Bill is survived by his beloved mother Rose Marie Werthen; loving sisters and brothers Deborah (Tim) Wasson, Diane, Robert (Michele) and Jeffrey Werthen; uncle of Katie and Nick Wasson. In addition to his father, he was preceded by his best furry pet dog, Megan. Arrangements were private by Copeland's Moon Township. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to American Cancer Society.
