Betty (Kish) Brawdy, 87, a life-long resident of Groveton, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Caring Heights. She was born at home on September 28, 1932 to the late John and Catherine (Winsky) Kish. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph C. Brawdy, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ralph C. Brawdy, Jr. and her brother Joey. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and William Fadeley; daughter-in-law Kim Brawdy; two grandchildren Brian and Colleen Fadeley. Betty had been a controller for the Holiday Inn in Robinson Township. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Church. An avid sports enthusiast especially cheering on her Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Steelers. A little-known fact about Betty, she was the first woman volunteer firefighter for Groveton Volunteer Fire Department. Betty loved flower gardening, filled up her hummingbird feeders and loved to watch the beauty from her front porch. Visitation and service were held privately at Copeland’s Coraopolis in conjunction with the CDC requirement for COVID-19. Burial took place at St. Joseph Cemetery. A public Memorial Mass will be held later at St. Joseph Church. Family suggests donations to her beloved church, St. Joseph Church, in her name.
