Bernard E. “Bernie” Brondou, 64, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Born October 20, 1956, in Utica, NY, he was one of five children born to George and Marie Conway Brondou. Bernie attended John F. Kennedy High School in Utica New York. He worked for multiple airlines starting with Empire Airlines, then Piedmont Airlines and eventually came to Pittsburgh with US Air. He was currently working at Fed EX. Bernie loved his New York sports teams; he cheered on the Yankees, the Giants and the Rangers. He was a music lover of the Moody Blues. Bernie enjoyed extensive travel as a benefit of working with the airlines. He visited friends and family both national and internationally with destinations including Florida, California, Old Forge in New York, Brussels, Germany, and Vieques Puerto Rico.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Brondou and his brother-in-law, Tom Carraway.
He will be remembered and missed by his siblings, Nancy Carraway, Gerry (Angela) Brondou and Carol Sweeney; his nieces and nephews, Tim, Dan, Meaghan, Greg, Ashleigh, Jessica and Matthew; nine grand nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, February 9th from 5-8pm in the Copeland’s, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp., where morning prayers will start Wednesday at 9:30am and proceed to St. Margaret/Mary for a Mass of Christian Burial 10am.
