Barbara (Davis) Williams, 82, was gently called home by her Lord and Savior as she and Pamela shared conversation sitting in the car on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Center Township. Barbara was born in McKeesport on April 14, 1938, one of 8 children born to the late Elsie (Nelson) and Peter Davis, Sr.
On May 10, 2010, she was preceded by her beloved husband, James E. Williams who she married on Dec.16, 1989. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Peter Davis II, Willis Davis, Ethel Davis, Mary Peaks, Rosella Winters; and her brother-in-law Pat Cantine. Barbara is the well-loved and cherished mother of Robert Davis of Ambridge, Pamela Davis of Ambridge, David Williamson and wife Cynthia of Jeannette, and Keith Williamson of Ambridge; her sisters Theresa Cantine of Jeannette and Elsie Gantt-Culliver and husband Lawrence of Greensburg; proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Jeannette High School and first accepted the Lord at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jeannette. When Barbara moved to Coraopolis in 1984, she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church and instantly became part of their family. Barbara was a receptionist for 15 years at Allegheny General Hospital until her retirement on April 22, 2003. Barbara was a devout Christian Woman who was kind, gentle, God-fearing, positive and a wonderful example to others. Whenever you called Barb on the phone, her first words were “Praise the Lord”. She will be missed by all her family and devoted friends.
Visitation will be a “pass through” visitation due to COVID-19 following restrictions of required masks and social distancing and briefly paying of respects on Friday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Family will have a private funeral. She will join her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
