Barbara Lee LaCivita was born August 29th, 1940, to Andrew and Sarah Gossler in Grove City, PA. She had a very active childhood-roller-skating, bowling, teasing her big brother, Robert, who she loved dearly. She met her best friend for life in Brownies, Marge Murphy Pieton.
Barb's love of her life was a shy, humorous, red-headed gentleman from Hubbard, Ohio - Michael Angelo LaCivita. They fell in love and, one day, he gave her a box of cracker jacks. Barbara's prize was an engagement ring. Barb and Mike were married on Armistice Day in 1961. They started their life together in Hubbard, Ohio. Eventually they moved to Moon Township and raised three girls. Barbara and her family loved camping, skiing, boating, and looking for arrowheads. Virginia's Beach Campground on Lake Erie was a favorite place for her. She never missed watching the spectacular sunsets and meteor showers with her family and friends. Barbara stayed in touch with her extended family and her friends, including The Twinges in the Hinges swim group at the YMCA.
Barb was an artist throughout her life. Her beautiful painted canvases decorate the houses of her family and friends. Mike and Barb would spend 44 years together until Mike made his journey to heaven in 2011.
Barbara's heart was filled with love and pride for her children, grandchildren, and precious great-granddaughter.
Thank you, Mom, for being awesome. Hey, while you are up in heaven, can you paint us some beautiful sunsets?
