Antoinette Bruno Obituary

Antoinette (Demma) Bruno, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice  with her loving daughter and niece by her side. Born February 16, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to Mariano and Michela Demma. Antoinette was known to all as “Toni”. She was a very spiritual person, committed to her faith. Toni was a member of Divine Redeemer Parish, the St. James 55 Club and a Red Hatter. Toni was extremely proud of her heritage which led to her finding the “love of her life” Joseph, at Italian Day at Kennywood Park, who she was happily married to for 39 years. She loved life and was most happy when she was around her family and friends. Toni was a hairdresser by trade and a homemaker, making a lovely home for her family and extended family. She got great pleasure from cooking and her specialties were; meatballs, manicotti and her sister Annie’s recipe for pizzelles. In her spare time, Toni enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and, of course, dancing was her forte and West View Park dances were her favorite. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Josette Bruno of Sewickley, her 100 year old brother Leo Demma of DuBois and many caring and supportive nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband Joseph A. Bruno and siblings August and Frank Demma, Josephine Gennuso, Anna DeCarolis, Mary Faulisi, Rose Agostinelli and Virginia Vito. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Heritage Valley Sewickley and at Good Samaritan Hospice for all of their wonderful care. Friends will be received at Copeland – Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley on Wednesday 2 – 8 pm where a Funeral Prayer will be held on Thursday at 9:45 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. James Church, 200 Walnut St., Sewickley at 10:15 am.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ETWN Global Catholic Network or Good Samaritan Hospice.
