It is with great sadness that we share our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Anthony “Tony” F. Mussari, 77 of Oakdale, formerly a 40-year resident of Moon Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital. Tony was born in McKees Rocks on September 1, 1944, the only child to the late Anthony and Anna Marie (Farrell) Mussari. Tony married the love of his life, Diane Carras, on June 7, 1974, and they had forty-seven wonderful years together. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Carras) Mussari; his two cherished children Richard Mussari and Andrea (Gregory) King; and two adored grandchildren Hunter and Isabella Anna Marie King; also, several beloved cousins. Tony obtained his BS from Point Park College. His extensive career in law enforcement began as a patrolman, becoming an Allegheny County Detective for twenty-three ½ years and as a Parole Agent for the PA Department of Probation and Parole. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and continued in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sgt. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, BPOE #1090, FOP Lodge 91 and the Allegheny County Police Association. His passion was cooking and eating, and he appreciated good food. Tony will be inurned privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements by Copeland’s. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to Gary Sinise Foundation (https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/) or National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (https://www.nationalfof.org/).
