Antonio “Tony” Joseph Lacenere was born on June 13, 1947, in Monopoli, Bari, Italia, and left this world on August 31, 2025, at the age of 78.
Tony was more than a brother, uncle, or friend—he was a presence. Tall, handsome, and full of life, he could light up a room with his humor and his stories. He was everyone’s Uncle Tony, the man who made each person feel like family.
His hands built and restored muscle cars, his heart poured love into family dinners, and his soul found rhythm in the music of The Beatles. He believed deeply in his faith, living as a Roman Catholic with a devotion that shaped the way he loved others.
He worked hard, retiring as a rigger from Great Lakes Steel, and he played even harder, always ready with a laugh, a good meal, or a drive down the road in a car he cherished.
Tony now reunites with his parents, Vito and Lucrezia, and his brothers and sisters—Grace E. DeAngelis, Christine (Crescenza) DeSantis, Frank Lacenere, Mario Lacenere, and Giuseppe Lacenere — who welcomed him home. He leaves behind his siblings Victoria and Sam, along with a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who will never forget him.
Uncle Tony lived big, loved big, and leaves behind a legacy of laughter, music, and family.
Friends received Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 from 11 - 1 pm at R. D. Copeland, Ltd., 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm.
