Anne M. (DeMaria) Battaglia

Anne M. (DeMaria) Battaglia, 104 years young, passed away peacefully On Tuesday evening, September 5, 2023, with her family present. Anne was born in Pittsburgh on March 22, 1919, one of three children to the late Joseph and Salvatora “Josephine” (Spagnola) Demaria. In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Vincent Peter Battaglia, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rose DeMaria and her brother, Lawrence DeMaria. Anne was a resident of Sewickley since 1995, formerly of Moon Township. She was a graduate of Westinghouse High School, class of 1937. Anne was a faithful member of Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church. Anne is survived by her two loving children, Vincent Peter Battaglia, Jr. and wife Theresa of Lebanon, OH and Joanne McDaniel and husband Martin of Sewickley; also 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation Friday, September 15, 2023, from 2-4, and 6-8 at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. where prayers will be recited on Saturday at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10:30 AM at Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church, 200 Walnut St., Sewickley, PA 15143. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge their gratitude with a special thanks to Gateway Hospice nurses and aides and local caregivers. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the St. Vincent DePaul, c/o Divine Redeemer Parish.
