Angeline J (Vardon) Pagna, age 86, peacefully passed away in the early morning of August 8, 2024, in the comfort of her own home with her four adoring daughters by her side. A cherished wife, loving mother, doting grandma and Nani to seven grandchildren, and proud great-grandma to eight great-grandchildren, Angie's family was truly her masterpiece. Born in 1937 to Joseph and June (Neiswonger) Vardon in Akron, Ohio, Angie lived a beautiful childhood writing to movie stars, enjoying fresh Italian bread from the family bakery, and making fudge with her mom while watching I Love Lucy and ironing clothes on Tuesday evenings. A graduate of North High School in Akron, Ohio, Angie loved to go dancing and spend the weekends at Cedar Point with friends. The Pagna and Vardon families knew and worked with each other for years, but it was at a jazz club where Angie introduced herself to Joe Pagna, the drummer in the Sammy Pagna Quintet. Hesitant that Joe was nine years older, June warned her daughter, Angie, “That boy will make you feel like you’re Marilyn Monroe, and you’re not.” Joe was warned by his mother, “You leave that nice girl alone!” They married in 1959 and later moved with their daughters to Moon Township in 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and June Vardon; by her sister Mary Reed and her brother Joe Vardon; and by her husband Joseph Pagna. She is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle (Bill) Susanj, Sherri Pagna, Lisa (Brian) Farringer, and Judy (Bob) Brant. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Melissa (Zhe) Chen, Nathan (Danielle) Susanj, Jonathan (Alyssa) Susanj, Brianna (Ryan) Barancho, Ryan Brant, Jake Farringer, and Kyle Brant, as well as her eight great-grandchildren. Angie is now with Jesus and reconnecting with those who have gone before her, sipping wine, sharing stories, and laughing. Her life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her home was always filled with stories, photographs, laughter, warmth, and for many years— Sunday sauce, dessert and coffee around the dining room table. She had an incredible talent for making everyone feel special and loved. A storyteller who made you laugh like no other. Angie’s family fondly recalls her favorite phrases: “Awesome,” “Looks-a-Good,” “You go girl,” “Carry On,” and always telling them, “You’re doing a great job.” Viewing hours will be held on Monday, August 12th at R. D. Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township from 2 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Angie’s life will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coraopolis on Tuesday, August 13th at 11 am. Angie Pagna's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Your love and kindness are deeply appreciated.
