Amelia LaLama, (nee Rubino), age 94, passed on September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Gino for 58 years. Dear loving mother of the late Louise (Vincenzo) Silvestri, Louis Gino (Karen Weimer), the late Robert (Carolyn). Loving grandmother of Amelia (Gary) Bukwaz, late Donald Silvestri, Thomas (Christina) Silvestri, Mark and Miranda LaLama. Proud great grandmother of Marina, Vincenzo and Giuseppe Silvestri. Cherished sister of the late Guido and the late Elvira Rubino of Caracas Venezuela. Dear sister-in law of the late Giovanni (the late Antonetta), the late Francesco (the late Carolina) the late Alessandro (Maria, surviving) and the late Nina Marchionda (the late Leonardo). Amelia was born in Pacentro, Italy to the late Guerino and Luisa (nee Gasberra) and in that town is where she met the love of her life, Gino. They wed on July 18, 1948, and in September of 1951 they moved to Coraopolis, PA where their family grew. Amelia’s love and passion in life was her devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Amelia’s passion for cooking was a source of delight for her family. Her kitchen was a place filled with the aroma of delicious meals, and her culinary skills became a symbol of the love and care she poured into every dish.
Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp on Wednesday, September 24th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 9:15 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis at 10 am. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Moon Township, PA.
