Amelia (Cercone) Gentile

Amelia Gentile, Age 86, of Buffalo, NY and most recently of Crescent, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 22nd at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Amelia was born on July 22, 1939, in Pacentro, Italy, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Fragolina (DeSalle) Cercone. She was the beloved wife of over 50 years to the late Pasquale Gentile who preceded her in death in 2016. Cherished mother of Lia Gentile and Franca Cavitt (Gerald). Sister of Nino Cercone (Virginia) of Monaca, PA, Guido Cercone (Anna) of West Palm Beach, FL and Raffaele (Angela) Cercone of Italy. Loving Nonna of Corianna, Ciara (Lucas) and Tayla Cavitt. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Amelia will be remembered fondly by her family for her hardworking and kind-hearted disposition that would do anything for anybody. She was a devout catholic and was faithful to her religion throughout her life. She loved making "Homemade Italian" food to be shared by friends and family. Calling hours will be held at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, on Monday from 2 - 8 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Sienna Church at 10AM. Amelia will be entombed with her husband Pasquale in Lackawanna, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
