Celebrating the Life of Alice Irene Reinsel

With hearts full of love and sadness, we share that our beloved Alice Reinsel, age 93, of Sewickley, PA (formerly of Moon Township and Coraopolis, PA), was welcomed into her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, with her daughter Ruth at her side.

Alice was born on May 30, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Anna (Noge) and Walter Freithofer. She grew up surrounded by family, faith, and music, and carried those values with her throughout her life. For just a month away from 61 years together, she shared a beautiful marriage with Paul Joseph Reinsel, raising their children in a loving home in Moon Township.

She was the proud and loving mother of Ruth (David) Hollifield, Thomas (Karen) Reinsel, and Timothy (Angel) Reinsel. Alice cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in even the smallest family moments.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, siblings William (Ann) Freithofer, Dorothy (Joseph) Evano, and Charles (Fran) Freithofer, as well as her grandson Jacob Reinsel. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren Jamie (Chris) Hinkle, Kelly (Chad) Giger, Kathleen (Tim) Carl, and Matt Hollifield; and through her great-grandchildren Logan Hinkle, Adam Jay Hinkle, Peyton Carl, and Hailey Hollifield.

Alice started her journey of faith in the Lutheran Church and was a member for 50 years at the Zion Lutheran Church in Coraopolis.  She then converted to Catholicism following the stroke of her beloved husband Paul, taking care of him for years.  Alice herself is a breast cancer survivor from the 1990’s and was known for her daily devotional reading.

Alice was the special woman that all family, neighbors, and friends loved to be around and everyone she touched will carry deep treasured memories of her.

The family is deeply grateful to the nurses, aides, and staff at The Masonic Village of Sewickley for their compassionate care during Alice’s final days.

In lieu of flowers or any gifts, please pray for the repose of her soul and comfort for the family.   Visitation will be held on February 28th at 9am at Saint Joseph’s Church – 1301 5th Avenue, Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am, celebrated by the Reverand Father Richard Jones.

Alice will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Paul at Resurrection Cemetery, 100 Resurrection Road, Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Interment will be private with family.

Care of her body and funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jessica Copeland Volante and Copeland Funeral Home of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
