Alfred A. Almasy, Sr., “Al”, husband, father, grandfather, veteran, steelworker, 79, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. He was born in Sewickley on August 1, 1941 to the late Theodore and Mary (Janesko) Almasy. Beloved husband for 50 years to Judith Bowe Almasy; loving father of Judy Dee Faulkner, Jennifer Dawn Almasy, and Alfred Alexander “Chip” Almasy, Jr.; cherished grandfather “Pap” of Malika Faulkner, Jake Almasy, Morgan Faulkner, Robert Almasy, Tristen Carlisle, Dominic DeAngelis, Tia Almasy and Jackson Almasy; proud great grandfather of Kennidee and a precious little boy expected in February; brother of Susan Springer, Daniel (Debra) Almasy and Barbara (Tracy) Moore. Al was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, VFW Post 402, and the Coraopolis Sportsman’s Club. Al was retired from Shenango, Inc. where he was a welder, Steel Worker ingot molder. Alfred proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifleman. Al was an avid hunter and fisherman and well-versed in Archery. Visitation Tuesday (Jan. 12) 6-8 and Wednesday (Jan. 13) 2-4, 6-8 with VFW service at 7 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be held on Thursday (Jan. 14) 9 AM. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full Military Honors.
