Alberta Louise Budkey, born on March 21, 1935, the only child born to the late Albert and Elizabeth Pearl (Faulk) Barnett, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Masonic Village of Sewickley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Eddie Branden and Jack Budkey. Alberta made her home in Leetsdale and was a member of both St. James Church and their 55+Club. Alberta’s love of music took her to numerous concerts by the Pittsburgh Symphony at Heinz Hall and ultimately a special recognition of attendance noted by her friend Marvin Hamlisch. Alberta was proud to be an American and cherished her privilege, considering it her civic duty, to vote in every election. Alberta loved to travel and one of her favorite destinations was Disney World. Despite difficulty and challenges, Alberta always had a smile, a laugh, enjoyed the simple pleasures of singing and dancing. Alberta is survived by her many friends, friends at Leetsdale Senior Living and two stepchildren. Visitation Monday 1-4 PM at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. where prayers will be recited on Tuesday at 10:30 AM followed by Mass at 11 AM at Divine Redeemer, St. James Church. Burial will follow in St. Boniface where she will be placed with her beloved husband Eddie Brandon.
