Willa Mae Jones, was born February 14th, 1927 in Forkland, Alabama to the late George and Rosie Gray Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 33 years, Thomas Emanuel Jones Sr.
Willa Mae was the oldest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her brothers George Foster Jr. and Eddie Foster and her sister Matilda Hill.
Willa Mae graduated in 1946 from Vandergrift High School and later moved to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania where she worked at several companies. In 1961, she began working for the Borough of Coraopolis Police Department as a school Crossing Guard, a career that she prospered in for 57 years. Willa Mae professed her life to Jesus Christ and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served as both a Usher and Trustee.
On July 2nd, 1949 she was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Emanuel Jones Sr. and to this union, three children were born; Thomas Emanuel Jr., Tanya Denise, and Robert Eric.
Willa Mae was very outspoken and generous with her time, feeding many members of the Coraopolis community. She was always willing to help those in need by going the extra mile. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, cleaning and walking down to McDonalds for coffee three days a week. She was well loved and many referred to her as (Nanny Jones).
