Stanley D. Mixter, part of the greatest generation, proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was recipient of the Purple Heart. Stan passed at the age of 94 at Heritage Valley Beaver on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Born in Coraopolis on May 28, 1925 to the late John Thomas and Lou (Kennedy) Mixter, he was the youngest of 8, all of who preceded him in death. Stan made his home in Coraopolis. Stan was retired from R B & W. He was a member of Bible Missionary Church, Aliquippa and a former member of F & AM Lodge #674. Stan was a hard worker all of his life and he loved to work. He would go out and cut his grass just for something to do or putter in his garden. Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Grace (Metas) Mixter; his loving stepsons and daughters-in-law David and Lisa King and Richard and Joy King; his cherished grandchildren Brenda (Seth), Steven (Rebecca), Matthew (Ashley), D. J. and Travis; great grandchildren Bishop, Cordelia, Andrew, Adam and Annaleigh; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is on Saturday (Sep 28) at 10 AM until 1 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. A Private Burial will follow the visitation at Coraopolis Cemetery. As a way to help his wife, a resident of Providence Care Center, be a part of Stan’s celebration of life, the family welcomes all to his Memorial service at Providence Care Center, 900 Third Ave, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 on Tuesday (Oct. 1) at 1:30 PM followed by light refreshments.
