Ruth (Shackelford) Revis, age 97, a Coraopolis resident since 1921, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Caring Heights. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 10, 1920 to the late Louis and Jean (Hamilton) Shackelford. In 2001, she was preceded in death by her husband Eddie K. Revis. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Revis, sisters Alva Dye and Helen Taylor and brothers Louis, Richard  and Harold Shackelford.  Beloved and cherished mother of Merle Revis, Barbara (Jim) Chavers all of Coraopolis, Eddie (Regina) Revis of New Brighton and Mark Revis of Coraopolis; and her legacy continues with her 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. From 1948-1960, she had worked at Eddies Cleaners on Fourth Ave. Ruth was very involved as a member of Who So Ever Wills Missionary Church (CMA), Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship, Church Board, Church pianist from 1962-1992 and Adult Sunday School Class Teacher. Ruth was a great mother and a wonderful example to her family and her community. She will be greatly missed. Visitation Friday 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Further visitation will be on Saturday at Who So Ever Wills Missionary Church, 878 First Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. A Luncheon will follow. Burial will be private at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
