Romaine (Kryskill) Balog

Romaine (Kryskill) Balog, age 87, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully at Manor Care, Greentree on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. She was born in Coraopolis on September 11, 1930 one of two daughters to the late William and Clara Kryskill, owners and operators of Hyeholde Restaurant.  Romaine was a member of Moon Township Historical Society. She was a life-learner who graduated Cum Laude from Connecticut College for Woman and 2 additional B.S. Degrees from Robert Morris University. She loved children and her profession as a Nanny.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former spouse Thomas Balog. She was the beloved mother of Timothy J. Balog and Benjamin L. Balog; loving grandmother of Brittany Balog of Tampa, FL and Cory Balog of Hamden, CT; sister of Barbara K.S. McKenna, current owner of Hyeholde Restaurant; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation Saturday 2-4 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Burial will be private at Coraopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to Robert Morris University.
