Robert N. Sommers, fondly known as “Two Pound”, age 67, of Beaver Falls, formerly of McKees Rocks, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born in Kennedy Township on September 2, 1951 to the late John and Theresa (Farino) Sommers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouse, Darletta K. Sommers. He is survived by his honey of 13 years, Cynthia Pickrell; brother Rich “Bulldog” Sommers (Deb); niece Melissa Scully (Chris), niece Diane Nieder (Bill), nephew Richard Kaminski; great nieces and nephews Teagan, Zoe, Jacob and Daniel along with many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; loved like a daughter Samantha Sommer (Dan) and their daughter Kylie Null (Drew); also many wonderful co-workers and friends. Robert was a 1969 graduate of Montour High School where he had played baseball and participated in pole vaulting. He was in mechanical maintenance at the Beaver Valley Power Station where he was well loved by his many co-workers. Bob was a life-member of American Motorcycle Association (dubbed with the nickname of “Green Wings”) and a member of Gold Wing Road Rider Association. He loved to travel, especially by motorcycle. Volunteering at the Beaver County Humane Society, he was an animal lover, who loved his dogs Molly, the Weimaraner and Elvis, the English Chocolate Lab. Able to captivate an audience, he was a well-seasoned storyteller with lots of animation, had a quirky sense of humor and was generous to a fault. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday May 18th at the family home beginning at 1 PM.
